Comment by Khane280% mount, Netherwing faction in Shadowmoon Valley rep grind, quests below. To get rep you can:Quests-A Slow Death (Daily) 250 repGet 12 Fel Glands from the nether rays on Netherwing Ledge, use these along with the quest item you received to poison the orcs working all around the ledge.Netherdust Pollen (Daily) 250 repThis is the quest for herbalist, simple enough gather 40 pollen from the netherdust bushes found around the ledge. There is a identical quest for miners and skinners.Netherwing crystal (Daily) 250 repCollect 40 Netherwing crystals. These drop off of the flayers on the ledge and any mobs in the mines south of the encampment. I personally had the best drop rates off of the fallen in the back of the mine, but different people reported better drop rates for different things. Not so friendly skies (Daily)Get 10 Netherwing relics from the Dragonmaw transporters flying between Netherwing ledge and the Dragonmaw Fortress. Land on one of the floating islands between the island and the land and use ranged attacks to pull the transporters to you. Fast, quick, quest, though their aimed shot hits for a lot so if you see the bow come out for a long time try to stun them.Great Netherwing egg hunt (Repeatable) 350 rep first turn in, 250 subsequent turn insThis is the only completely repeatable quest there is, and it's to turn in a netherwing egg. These eggs can come from anywhere herbs, mining, mob drops, there are even eggs that spawn along the ridge that you can click on to loot.
Sadly though, the drop rate on these is incredibly low, I probably only got 15 or so during the entire rep grind. I'm not sure how common the lootable ones will be once the servers are live, I think they take a while to spawn and the server wasn't usually up long enough for them to show up.Once you are friendly, this quest opens up:::Overseeing and you: making the right choices 350 repBring 10 knothide leather and 1 tyrannitor hide to the npc to have your weapon crafted. Tryanitor is the level 71 Trex in the far north dome in Netherstorm. Note: the hide is a drop, it is not skinnedWhen you complete this, these open up:::The Booterang (Daily) 350 repYou are given a booterang and have to tame 20 dragonmaw peons with it. Pretty easy, just fly around and look for the peons that are either asleep or are red and mad, the booterang is usable from your mount.Picking up the pieces (Daily) 350 repCollect 15 Nethermine cargo from the mine. Easy, just run around looking for loot-able mine carts.Dragons are the least of our problems (Daily) 350 repKill 15 Nethermine Flayers are 5 Nethermine Ravagers these aren't hard to find, second path from the left at the second split in the tracks at the mine (first split doesn't matter, both take you to the same place)Crazed & confused 350 repI was kind of surprised that this wasn't daily, but anyway to get to the npc stay left while going through the mines, eventually you'll see a netherdrake, drop down and you'll see the quest npc as you exit that area. The quest is to kill 5 Miners and 1 Foreman, to get to them go to the place with the flayers mentioned in the quest above and head to the right when given the choice.
Comment by SgrunterThere is another quest not daily that u can do: if u go east from the camp where u take all the Q u find a way with a lot of humanoid.in this road there are 2 elite,if u kill the first he drop a Q item,u have to kill some other humanoid there and the second elite at the top of that way (250 rep if i don't wrong).btw i have a question: i have reached exalted just yesterday and i've taken my drake but i took it as a reward of the last Q after Illidan etc etc.the problem is that i can't buy another drake after, have u find a way to buy another one?thx. Comment by ThikianI just got my Onyx Netherwing Drake this morning. The other colours look good as well, but I already have a Dark Riding Talbuk from Halaa and I wanted my mounts to 'match'.I expected the reputation to be harder to obtain, but it wasn't all that difficult. The eggs are a great way to speed up the process. I farmed them every morning from approx.
6:45 to 7:45 before I went to work; usually I found plenty of them at that time of day, so if you don't mind getting up early, I can recommend it.I did the racing quests, too, but I never defeated Mulverick and died trying several times. Comment by NukillisThis is my personal favorite mount in the game, because of four reasons. One, I have always loved dragons and thought that they were just awesome. Two, this thing is black. Black is the BOMB. ('I want it painted black.' )Three, not only is it a dragon, but it resembles a shark (take a close look at its head and tail). And finally, because it is fast and very fun + cool to ride.
I can't wait till Cataclysm, where I can ride this in Azeroth finally.I got this in just a little under five days. At level 74+, the beginning chain is reasonably soloable if you know how to do the Zuluhed encounter. After I completed the Hated-Neutral chain, I started by completing each chain/quest up until Exalted; where on the way to Exalted, I farmed the eggs, and since no one tries to get their Netherwing flight faction up, I had little to no competition. Unfortunately, this also caused me to have to solo the Zuluhed encounter, but hey, at least I know now how hard it is to get a group for this on my realm. Anyways, after you get exalted, you have to talk to Taskmaster Varkule Dragonbreath, who will give them a quest to see Overlord Mor'ghor and have an audience with a shade of Illidan.
The little goblin, Yarzill the Merc, turns out to be a Nether Dragon in disguise. He saves you and flies you out to Shattrath City, where you can complete the final quest in the chain to choose one of the Nether Drakes (I obviously chose Onyxien), but here's the catch (that many of you may already know): you get the first drake for FREE. Yes, that's right, free for once.Aaand I hope that this helped someone. Even though it really looks like it helps no one lol.-lawl.
Comment by louisrcasperJust got this myself on 12/23/09. It was a tedious grind, but I completed it in just under a week at lvl 77-78. Do every quest, daily or otherwise, and just collect the eggs you find along the way. Don't waste your time farming them. For gatherers, I think miners have it the best.
There are WAY more it seemed than there were, but maybe that's just because I was looking for the Nethercite. Anywho, skinners have it the worst because of drop rates on. Also, the quest, was a huge P.I.T.A. The has got to be one of the hardest things to get if you're not an engineer or even a miner. But if you can do it, it's worth the 500 rep.
Every little bit counts here.Good luck and enjoy! Comment by FoorkuGot this one today. I have been on it for 3 weeks, but I have had a lot of days where I haven't done anything to it. I was friendly with the faction when I started for real about 7 days ago. Did all the daily's and handed in a lot!
I think I've handed in about 50 eggs in total and 15 of them were handed in at the very last day.The eggs are pretty easy to find, as some dude posted a video on youtube showing a flight path to take, to find most of the eggs outside the mine. I've made a lot of eggs this way.
Also, inside the mine the eggs spawn pretty often. Make sure to go through a couple of times each day. Forget to kill the Black Blood of Draenor, as they drop the eggs too.
It's a good way to waste your time if you are just farming eggs and already have been on the flight path and through the entire mine recently. I found 10 eggs in total from killing the Black Blood of Draenors. If you have the opportunity, then do the egg-farming when it's night (according to the realm time). When people sleep they dont accidently bump into the eggs, which means that you can go get them. I've been able to find 2 eggs at the flying path + 2 eggs inside the mine + I got 3 eggs from the Black Blood of Draenor-mobs inside the mine, even though they have a very low droprate.
Took me one hour to get those eggs and the rep-bonus is so nice! Comment by Drimbok13I did the grind for this drake and the other ones on my main and, though it did take some time and patience, I love this particular drake. Something about what he said when I completed the quest chains and became exalted with them stuck with me.I will say this though; the whole ordeal took me three long, intense days.
After reading up on the matter and watching a few videos of egg spawn points, I had every spawn point at the base off the Ledge memorized and every mine spawn point memorized, as well as a couple of Ledge spawn points. Here's what I did in case anyone is interested. If not, feel free to skip me.:)I'd log in and do all the dailies. Then I'd start an egg gathering round, even if there were others doing the grind at the same time. Though there are rumors that the mines are supposedly often camped, I found most of my eggs there.
After I was finished with my rounds I'd hop out of Outlands for quests, as I was 83 at the time, or would work on my alchemy/herbalism. After about an hour I'd pop back in and do some rounds, making sure to kill every flayer I could find, including the rapidly respawning elite flayers as they have the same drop rate as regular flayers.Rinse and repeat. After spending almost 48 hours total doing just that, I got exalted and got my drakes.:)Well worth the grind.:) Good luck to those working on this rep grind! Comment by L3nniXGot mine after 3 days, I've done Neutral to Friendly 5997 on the first day, from Friendly to Revered 13900ish on 2nd day and the rest on the 3rd day. Yes this was intense and I think it is absolutely doable in 2 days. Of course I mostly farmed the eggs.
One advice: have a friend invite you to a low-pop server and start the grind at 2am, there will be no competition. This way you can make about 10-15 eggs per hour with a bit of luck.Best wishes to everyone farming the Netherwing Drakes and good luck.:).
